RBI withdraws $5.2 billion via first net open market debt sale in 9 years

The Reserve Bank of India has taken steps to absorb liquidity from the banking sector by selling bonds worth 500 billion rupees. This strategic move included the sale of securities with maturation dates slated between fiscal 2029 and fiscal 2032, marking the first net sale since November 2017. Consequently, an amount equivalent to nearly 0.2% of total deposits has been withdrawn from circulation.
